Warning Against the Invitation of Sinful Men
8 Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
9 They are a garland to grace your head
and a chain to adorn your neck.
MEDITATION:
Fathers have instruction for your construction in life. Instructions have transformative power when obeyed. When you want to write an exam, instructions are always on top of the question paper implying that you need instruction at the beginning of life not at the end. From the passage, instructions operate in two dimensional ways; it is:
(1.) Ornament of grace to the head and
(2.) Chain about the neck.
These are the two folds purpose of the instructions of the father.
