17 Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.
MEDITATION:
It is not every shepherding that can be of profit until you understand the work of a shepherd and you comply with the instruction as contained in the Word of God. A shepherding that will be of profit will make you to know that your first duty is to be obedient to those that bear rule over you. Do you have any rule over your life? If no, then shepherding may not profit you. Secondly, you are to be submissive, that is do what you are told. Your shepherd has been given access to your soul by God and you need to bring your soul under watch. You can be shepherded in grief or joy depending on your conduct. Shepherding can be for your profit or loss, make a choice.
PRAYER: Father, I receive grace to function as an obedient sheep in Jesus name.
