18 After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself. 2 From that day Saul kept David with him and did not let him return home to his family. 3 And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself.4 Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt.
MEDITATION:
Even in relationships, God deals with the heart of men. See how God knitted the hearts of Jonathan and David together in today’s text. It is just as he makes a heart willing that He connects people together in relationships. The Scripture says, “and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. Beloved, God can connect you to your own people, your helpers, family and church. If he says that the heart of the king is in His hand as rivers of water and he turns it withersoever He will, who will He not use for you if your heart is loyal to Him?
