// Read Luke 13:6-9 //
6 Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any. 7 So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’
8 “‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. 9 If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’”
MEDITATION:
In the Kingdom of God the essential thing the Lord is looking for is fruit. The Lord is the owner of the tree and the vineyard which is your life; what the Lord desires to see that your life brings forth fruit. These are the kind of fruit is He looking for:
(i.) Fruit of the Spirit – Galatians 5:27 (ii.) Fruit of Repentance – Luke 3:8-9
(iii.) Fruit of Soul Winning – Romans 1:13 (iv.) Fruit of God’s Word – Colossians 1:6; Matthew 13:8
Fruit comes by death, until the seed planted dies there is no germination. (John 12:24)
PRAYER: Oh Lord I receive grace to bear all these kind of fruit in my life.
