“There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.”
Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.”
MEDITATION:
This question came to Jesse because Samuel could not find anyone reliable among his children. This question has various implications that we need to note:
i. Are these all what you called sons?
ii. Are there no more to Sonship besides what these ones represent?
iii. Have we exhausted all the available sons?
iv. Are these rejected ones what you called sons?
v. Do you have another definition for Sonship apart from the one these ones defined?
Your sons are your product just as they were for Jesse. What are the products that are traceable to you? Are they of any worth? Consider it.
PRAYER: Oh Lord help me to yield what is acceptable in your sight.
