17 To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’

“Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat food from it
all the days of your life.
18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.
19 By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return.”

MEDITATION:
The fall of man brought some reduction to his life; it is only in Jesus Christ that man can pick the pieces together again. When man fell, the ground was cursed. Man was cursed to eat out of sorrow all the days of his life. Then the ground was to bring forth thorns and thistles; by eating out of sweat, man was downgraded from being the image of God to becoming dust. If you have not given your life to Christ, you need to do so before you can be free from the effect of the fall.

PRAYER: Father, deliver me by the blood of Jesus from the effect of sin.
