4 One day the wife of one of the seminary students came to Elisha to tell him of her husband’s death. He was a man who had loved God, she said. But he had owed some money when he died, and now the creditor was demanding it back. If she didn’t pay, he said he would take her two sons as his slaves.

2 “What shall I do?” Elisha asked. “How much food do you have in the house?”

“Nothing at all, except a jar of olive oil,” she replied.

MEDITATION:
Your service is another thing affects and influences your future. It was the accommodation that great woman of Shunem gave Elisha that her child laid on in the day of her challenges. What you are doing now will speak for you in the future. Aprons and handkerchiefs that Dorcas made for brethren spoke on her behalf when death came along her way. Your service to the Lord and humanity is not just dying with you they are going into your future. It is my prayer that you will preserve a glorious future for yourself here and in eternity by a worthy service to the Lord.
