REVEALED WORD TODAY
// Read: Ephesians 5:14-20 //
14 This is why it is said:
“Wake up, sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”
15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
MEDITATION:
One of the issues treated in the book of Ephesians is how a Christian ought to walk. There, we are admonished to walk circumspectly, that is to walk purposefully, and with reason. From this passage we can see that it takes Wisdom; understanding of time and will of God to walk circumspectly (verses 15-17). It is the understanding of the will of God that will define your purpose; the understanding of time to perform speaks of your redeeming of time and Wisdom is the procedure or process of execution. As you pay attention to these three, you will walk circumspectly and you will be delivered from evil that comes in days.
PRAYER: Father Lord, give me grace to walk daily circumspectly, and to redeem my time in life.
