// Read I Corinthians 2:1-5; 4:20 //
And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.[a] 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.
4:20
20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
MEDITATION:
Another important thing to note about the Kingdom of God is that it is not a matter of talk alone. The Power of the Kingdom must be experienced. Paul said He is not ashamed of the gospel of Christ because it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that believes. There is a need to go beyond the word (talk) and experience the power in the Word. Our faith must be in the power of God and not the enticing words of human wisdom.
PRAYER: Pray that you will go beyond the Word to the Power in the word.
