// Read II Corinthians 10:1-5 //
By the humility and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you—I, Paul,who am “timid” when face to face with you, but “bold” toward you when away! 2 I beg you that when I come I may not have to be as bold as I expect to be toward some people who think that we live by the standards of this world. 3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
MEDITATION:
Imagination is a tool God gave man to see the will of God in his mind and make it a reality. David used his imagination to defeat Goliath. He said ‘This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand and I will give the carcasses of the host of Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air…….’ He first imagined it and it came to pass. But for some people, the devil has corrupted their imagination; Genesis 6:5 says ‘And God saw that the wickedness of man is great in the earth and that EVERY IMAGINATION of his heart was only evil continually’. Some people are in this category even after salvation and they must fight a battle to restore their imagination. In order to do this, they must repeatedly cast down every wrong or evil imagination and replace it with the Word of God for their lives. Another example is the children of Israel at Kadesh. They had a wrong imagination ‘And we were in our own sight a grasshopper…….’ This wrong imagination destroyed them. Only Joshua and Caleb had the correct imagination based on the will of God.
PRAYER: Identify the wrong/evil imagination you have about yourself and your life and begin to cast them down with the Word of God.
