// Read Amos 5:4-6 //
4 This is what the Lord says to Israel:
“Seek me and live;
5 do not seek Bethel,
do not go to Gilgal,
do not journey to Beersheba.
For Gilgal will surely go into exile,
and Bethel will be reduced to nothing.[a]”
6 Seek the Lord and live,
or he will sweep through the tribes of Joseph like a fire;
it will devour them,
and Bethel will have no one to quench it.
MEDITATION:
Many people prefer to seek Prophets and Pastor. They chase them as if they are God. This is a misplaced priority. It is God and His Kingdom that we have been commanded to seek.
Do not forget it is not the Prophets and Pastors that will reward you, it is God. God is the rewarder not men. Gilgal, Bethel can be places and people Christians are seeking for help. To live, you must seek God and God alone. He is not a man that He should lie! (Read Isaiah 45:19).
PRAYER: Make up your mind to seek God and His Kingdom and not Gilgal and Bethel.
