// Read: II Kings 5:9-12 //
9 So Naaman went with his horses and chariots and stopped at the door of Elisha’s house. 10 Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, “Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.”
11 But Naaman went away angry and said, “I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be cleansed?” So he turned and went off in a rage.
MEDITATION:
There are several reasons why men do not experience transformation in the hands of God. The life of Naaman illustrated some of the factors that can hinder a man from experiencing divine changes.
i. Anger and wroth can hinder a life from experiencing breakthrough and liberty. “But Naaman was wroth…” verse 11. Do away with anger in your life.
ii. To think that you have a better option to divine instruction Verse 12.
He was told to go out and dip in River Jordan and he started naming better rivers; River Damascus, River Pharpar and River Abana. You should know God is expecting your obedience and not your opinion that will not hold water.
PRAYER: Lord, give me grace to obey your instructions.
