The Waters of Marah and Elim
22 Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. 23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.[a]) 24 So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?”
Exodus 16:2
2 In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron.
MEDITATION:
Many Christians are like the children of Israel in times of trials and test. They only praise God when things are going smoothly and working for them. They murmur and forget the goodness of God when things go otherwise. This is not good! It is not a good habit.
God can only tolerate it for a while. After sometime, the Lord reacted and the people missed the promise land and died in the wilderness. This shall not be our portion in Jesus name. His promises shall come to pass in our lives but we must stop the habit of murmuring against God, if it will not happen to us.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to praise you in all situations and not murmur.
