// Read Roman 1:3-6 //
3 regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life[a] was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power[b] by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from[c] faith for his name’s sake. 6 And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.

MEDITATION:
Jesus Christ was made the seed of David according to the flesh but was declared the son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness. Jesus was both flesh (v3) and spirit (vs 4) when he was on earth yet He lived to please His Father God. Because he was MADE of the seed of David (flesh) he was pierced with a sword at death but He was raised from the dead because he was DECLARED the son of God (Spirit). No wonder the Bible says if we live according to the flesh we shall die but we through the Spirit should mortify the deeds of the flesh and live (Rom. 8:13). Which one will you lean on, the flesh or Spirit?

Prayer: Pray that you will through the Spirit mortify the deeds of the flesh and live.
