11 But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?”
An officer of the king of Israel answered, “Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.[a]”
Esther 2:7-8
7 Mordecai had a cousin named Hadassah, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother. This young woman, who was also known as Esther, had a lovely figure and was beautiful. Mordecai had taken her as his own daughter when her father and mother died.
8 When the king’s order and edict had been proclaimed, many young women were brought to the citadel of Susa and put under the care of Hegai. Esther also was taken to the king’s palace and entrusted to Hegai, who had charge of the harem.
Meditation:
The kind of influence coming to your life can be positive or negative. Examples of positive influences are:
i.Naomi influenced Ruth to enter into her fulfillment of destiny.
ii. Jehoshaphat influenced Ahab to seek divine guidance II Kings 3:11
iii. Mother of Timothy influenced him to follow godly way II Timothy 1:1-6
iv. Mordecai exercised godly and right influenced on Esther as her mentor.
