42 How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
A Tree and Its Fruit
43 “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.44 Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thorn bushes, or grapes from briers. 45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
MEDITATION:
Jesus also separated people by their type of the heart. He grouped them into two major types; the good and the evil people. A heart is known by the type of fruit it produces because it is out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Beloved, what type of fruit are you producing? This can also be use to know the state of your heart. Peter knew the heart of Simeon by his request (Acts 8:14-24). He asked him to repent so that the thought of his heart will be forgiven. Simeon’s heart was not right with God.
PRAYER: Like Simeon, repent of wickedness in your heart today and make it right with God.
