REVEALED WORD TODAY
// READ: 1 Thess. 1:1-4, II Thess. 1:1-5 //
1 To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
Grace and peace to you.
Thanksgiving for the Thessalonians’ Faith
2 We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. 3 We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
4 For we know, brothers and sisters[b] loved by God, that he has chosen you,
II Thess. 1:1-5
1 Paul, Silas[a] and Timothy,
To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thanksgiving and Prayer
3 We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters,[b] and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. 4 Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.
5 All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.
MEDITATION:
It is noteworthy to know that Paul had a habit of praying ceaselessly for the souls in his care. No wonder, he said in I Corinthians 14:15 and 18 that he prayed more in the spirit and understanding more than anyone else! Let us imitate him and see the mighty move of God once again in our Churches today. Enough of testimonies of material things that are of earthly benefits alone.
PRAYER: Pray that the content of your prayer will be of the Kingdom of God henceforth.
