Topic : The Opening Power of His Resurrection

  • When man sinned, the fellowship with God was closed up and no man was able to open the book because he that is to open the book must be worthy. Revelation 5:4
  • The following are things that were opened at His resurrection:

  • Opening of the Graves – Matthew 27:52

  • Opening of Eyes – Luke 24:16-31

    • There is no way your eyes will be opened when you haven’t experienced His resurrection power
    • Every wrong living is a function of wrong sight, until you see right, you can’t live right.
    • Coming to church does not open your eyes, encounter with Jesus does
    • What you cannot see with dry eyes, you can see with wet eyes – John 20 :11-
    • Revelation is progressive
    • Spiritual things are not cheap

  • Opening of the Scriptures – Luke 24:32, John 20:9

    • It takes the power of His resurrection for scriptures to be opened
    • The picture of your future is in the scripture but you need the scripture to be opened before you can access it
    • If you don’t know the scriptures, you life will be ruptured
    • Prayer: Lord open my eyes to the scriptures
    • Prayer: Lord open my eyes to the scriptures

  • Opening of Understanding – Luke 24:45

    • There is an understanding that comes by power

  • Opening of the spirituals – Luke 24:33

    • No more restriction and limit, the spiritual was opened at His resurrection
    • Jesus opened possibility at His resurrection

  • Opening of God’s capacity to humanity – John 20:22-23

    • We can now stand for God in the midst of men
    • We can function in the capacity of God

  • Opening of the world to the gospel (Good news) – John 20:21, Matthew 28:18-20
