// READ: MATTHEW 22:35-40 //
35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

MEDITATION:
A Christian must be able to love himself as well as love his neighbour. It is not possible to love a neighbour correctly when there is no self-love. In fact, verse 39 says “… Love your neighbour as yourself.” If you do not appreciate yourself how will you know what to appreciate in your neighbour? It is therefore very important to know how God sees you, what He has done and what He desires of you so that you will not only obey, you will help others to do so too.

PRAYER: Lord, teach me to love myself the way you want in Jesus name.
