5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.
MEDITATION:
Patience can also mean endurance, long suffering. Hebrews 6:12 says “Imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promise”. Without adding patience to faith it will not deliver. Patience is the force that is needed to realise every promise of God. The seed that fell on the good soil could only produce fruit by patience; Luke 8:15 “…bring forth fruit with patience”. There is need to add patience to faith in order to inherit the promise of God. Have patience with God, endurance with the enemy and long suffering with man.
PRAYER: Pray for patience to wait for the fulfilment of God’s promise.
