13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?”
14 “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord[a] have for his servant?”
15 The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.
MEDITATION:
You need also to understand that God has many strategies to fight battles. In verse13, to cross the Jordan, nobody went before the priest but in Jericho, armed men went before the priest (verse 9). Against the Amalekites, Joshua drew the sword but for this battle, it was an Angel that drew the sword. Find out the divine strategy to approach your battle, God is not static with His strategy but rather dynamic. It is your responsibility to find out by the way of the Holy Spirit how the Lord will lead you.
PRAYER: Father, grant me understanding of your way for my life.
