// Read: Exodus 23:23-29 //
23 My angel will go ahead of you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites and Jebusites, and I will wipe them out. 24 Do not bow down before their gods or worship them or follow their practices. You must demolish them and break their sacred stones to pieces. 25 Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, 26 and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.
27 “I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter. I will make all your enemies turn their backs and run. 28 I will send the hornet ahead of you to drive the Hivites, Canaanites and Hittites out of your way. 29 But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you.
MEDITATION:
The Lord God Almighty is not left out in the journey of the children of Israel. They were to serve Him, not to other gods or serve them nor make covenants with the people of the land. God on His part will do the following:
i. Bless their water and bread
ii. Take away sickness from their midst.
iii. Send fear before them, destroy the people to whom they shall come and make their enemies turn their back unto them.
iv. Send hornets before them to drive away the occupants.
So it is important, for each party to do their part for the journey to be smooth.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to fulfill my part in the journey of life so that You and the angel you send will do yours.
